Description

This attractive full size violin for sale was made by German Carl (Karl) Hammerschmidt around 1920 in Watzkenreuth in the modern day Czech Republic.  Hammerschmidt tried his hand at making many instruments and is most famous for his clarinets; however, this violin is a very nice instrument as well.  The varnish is a lovely light brown and the wood used is very fine; this violin has a beautiful one piece back.  This instrument is hand-carved and special attention was paid to carving the scroll.  The Hammerschmidt Violin is rich and full.  It was clearly well cared for by its previous owner(s) as there are no problems with this instrument.  There are two small repaired top cracks by the saddle.

Priced at $7250.00, this well made and unique violin would make a good choice violin for the advanced player or a lover of rare instruments.
