German 4/4 1880 Branded Christian Wilhelm Seidel Violin

This lovely, full-size German instrument for sale is branded “Seidel” and was made around 1880.  The brand is that of Christian Wilhelm Seidel, one of the more famed and respected Seidel family violin makers.  The early Seidel instruments are of very good quality, and this violin is no different.  It has tightly curled and highly flamed wood on its nice two-piece back; the yellow-brown varnish is nice  There are a few varnish blemishes and the instrument has 5 repaired top cracks and 2 repaired f-hole cracks, although none of this work devalues the violin.  The Seidel Violin has a lovely bright and sweet tone.
