German 4/4 1800 Ruggieri Copy Violin

This exceptional Ruggieri copy violin that is for sale was handmade in Germany around 1800.  The label inside the body does not identify the maker.  The violin has a nicely grafted neck and bushed pegs.  As is often the case with an instrument this age, there are numerous well repaired top cracks; none of the cracks negatively affect the instrument. The Ruggieri copy has a nice flame and tight curl on a lovely one-piece back, as well as a lovely yellow-brown oil varnish.  The tone of this Ruggieri Copy Violin does have an older, baroque sound to it; it is not quite as full as some of the more modern instruments.  Evah Pirazzi strings do improve this violin’s projection substantially.
