German 4/4 1800 Phenomenal Giorgio Bairhoff Copy Violin

This full size violin for sale is a fabulous German maker’s Giorgio Bairhoff copy.  Giorgio Bairhoff himself worked in Naples, ITALY in the late 1700’s, and this violin dates to that time period.  This instrument is so nicely made that when we consulted a London expert, he thought long and hard before finally concluding that this violin is not a true Bairhoff.  The reasons we know this violin is not a Bairhoff are 1, that the peg bushings were done in such as way as to indicate that the pegs were originally set at a German angle rather than an Italian angle, and 2, that there is no beech lining on the violin.  Otherwise, it is fabulously carved, the wood is incredibly lovely, and the sound is reminiscent of the old Italian master’s violins.  This Bairhoff Violinhas no repairs.
