Description

This attractive 3/4 violin for sale was made in Germany in the 1950s for import by Chicago based William Lewis and Son.  This violin is the Ton-Klar (Tone-Clear) “The David” #168 model, which was the highest Ton-Klar model that William Lewis and Son imported.  This particular David is exceptionally nice; it has an attractive one-piece back with a tight grain wood on the front.  The varnish is nicely applied and is an attractive golden-brown.  There is no damage on the violin.  This instrument has a very large, full, and bright sound for a 3/4 violin, so it would make a nice violin for an advanced, young player.
