Description
This nice, full size violin for sale was made in 1920 in the workshop of J.A. Baader in Mittenwald, GERMANY. As with many Baaders, the construction of this violin is quite good and the wood is fine. The violin has a red varnish, which is less common among Baaders. As for the sound, this Baader has such a lovely sound that we are surprised that no one has yet over-looked the varnish blemishes and taken it home. This Baader Violin has a very rich, sweet, and deep sound that is not too dark to project well. It is in good condition with some unfortunate blemishes that detract from its looks. There was a top crack by the saddle that was repaired by inserting a small piece of wood into the top, and there are two spots where the varnish is worn away.
Priced at $3750.00, a violinist who loves rich sounding violins would be thrilled to take this violin home.
