German 4/4 1920 Otto Durrschmidt Silver Violin Bow

This full size violin bow for sale was made by Otto Dürrschmidt of Markneukirchen, GERMANY.  It was crafted circa 1920, making it an early Dürrschmidt bow.  It does show some signs of age; the frog is quite worn and stick has had lots of playing time.  However, the stick is incredibly strong, has perfect camber, and draws and excellent tone out of the violin.  The stick is made of pernambuco with a whale bone grip and silver mounting.  The original frog does not bear the Dürrschmidt coat of arms, as a minority of bows don’t.  For $1400.00, this bow will make an advanced violinist very happy.
