Description

This full size violin for sale was made in Eisleben, (Saxony) GERMANY by the Wilhelm Duerer company c 1900.  This particular Duerer is among the nicest Duerers made; it has a very fine grain wood on top, nice wood on the back, excellent carving, and an attractive orange-brown spirit varnish.  The carving has the unique Duerer look.  The violin is in very good condition; it has one repaired top crack on the right that is nowhere near the sound post, as well as a repaired f-hole crack.  The sound of the Duerer Violin is wonderful; it is rich and full yet crisp, bright, and clean.  The sound is so good that we wonder why these violins sell for so little; it is easily the sound of a much more expensive violin.

Priced at $2700.00, this Duerer would be an excellent instrument for a serious high school student who is looking for a very good sound at a reasonable price.
