Description

This attractive French violin for sale is known to be a JTL (Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy) factory violin despite a paper label that reads only “Copie de Stradivarius”.  The varnish, craftsmanship, and style are all identical to JTL violins, identifying this violin as being made in Mirecourt, FRANCE.  The overall craftsmanship of this Strad copy is very fine; the scroll has deeply cut flutings and the body is fine.  This violin is approximately from 1890.  The only previous repairs made were for a very minor f-hole crack and a replacement of a portion of the lower bout rib.  This JTL Strad Copy Violin has a full sound and much volume; it projects well and is more rich than many French violins.

For $2700.00, this is an attractive older French violin suitable for an advancing high school violin player.
