French 16″ 1937 Marcel Deloget Viola

This highly attractive 16 inch viola for sale was handmade by Marcel Deloget (Marcel Deloger) in Versailles, FRANCE.  Deloget was one of the last in a long line of Versailles luthiers and was frequently called upon to repair fabulous, old instruments.  This particular 16″ Deloget Viola was made in 1937.  It has a lovely yellow French varnish and was made by an exacting hand.  There is one repaired top crack on the right lower bout of this viola; this viola has been well cared for.  This viola has a relatively bright tone, yet is still manages to be powerful and sonorous.
