American 4/4 1940 Michael Gozzo Violin

$15,250.00

4/4 violin made in the United States by Italian Michael Gozzo in 1940.  Very fine condition with a small varnish blemish only.

Description

This very attractive violin for sale was made by an Italian man who had moved to the United States when he made this instrument.  Michael Gozzo handmade this violin mid-career in 1940 in Los Angeles.  Gozzo was very exacting and thoughtful in his craft, and his instruments are highly reputed.  This particular Gozzo Violin is in very good condition; it has only a varnish blemish on the lower right and a small repaired top crack under the chin rest.  The varnish is a lovely red-brown, and the maple back is lovely with a good flame and tight curl.  This Gozzo’s tone is warm and inviting with many ringing overtones.

Priced at $15250.00, this violin would make a lovely instrument for an advanced college student or professional violinist who is looking for a special violin.
