Description

This very lovely full-size violin for sale was handmade at the bench of luthier James Reynold Carlisle in Cincinnati, OH.  Carlisle was working in the Wurlitzer shop at the time he made this violin.  His highest quality violins, of which only ~75 were ever made, were sealed with his thumbprint.  This Carlisle Thumbprint Violin, made in the Wurlitzer shop in 1924, is among the nicest in existence.  The sound is full and bright; this violin projects well and would make a good solo instrument.  The violin is a lovely color of yellow-orangey brown.  It is made with a one piece back, rather than two, and over the course of its life, it has never needed any repairs.  This instrument is truly in perfect condition.  Carlisle violins are becoming hugely popular right now, with many players looking for them.

This violin is quite a steal at $12250.00.  This would make a perfect choice for a player or collector who is looking for a lovely instrument with sky-rocketing value.
