American 4/4 1900 August Carlstedt Ideal Violin

This very nice and very unique full size violin for sale was handmade by August Carlstedt.  Carlstedt moved to Chicago from Sweden in the very late 1800’s and opened a shop with the label “Ideal”.  He specialized in and is renowned for making high end guitars and mandolins, but he also made the odd instrument including this very handsome Carlstedt Violin c 1900.  It has lovely wood, a well carved scroll and body, and a fabulous sound.  The only thing this instrument is missing to command a very high price is a famous violin maker label.  The sound is rich and full, with not a hollow or weak note in it.  Additionally, this violin is in absolutely wonderful condition without a single repair, although there is one varnish blemish on the neck.
