German 4/4 1890 Hopf Copy Violin

This old Hopf copy violin for sale was made in Germany sometime c 1890.  It does not have a label, so it cannot be linked with a specific German factory.  It stamped “Hopf” on the back and bears typical Hopf copy features and shape.  This Hopf Violin is set with nice rosewood fittings.  It does not have any major repairs and is in excellent condition, especially considering its age.  As with many Hopf’s, this violin has a sound that greatly appeals to many fiddlers; it is not as rich and full as some violins but it is bright and projecting.
