Description
This very attractive and rare full size violin for sale was made by Alois Bittner in 1926. Bittner studied under Franz Anger and worked in Kladno, near Prague in the modern day Czech Republic. This Bittner Violin is particularly well made; the back is of a lovely single piece of wood. It is an approximate Guarneri copy. The violin is well carved throughout and the varnish is a fine deep red oil. There are a couple knicks in the varnish in keeping with the age of this violin, and there is a repaired top crack to the left of the saddle which does not affect the instrument’s sound or value. This instrument has a fine sound; the violin sings richly and brightly over the entire violin.
For $8250.00, any college student would be more than thrilled to play on this Bittner violin.
