Italian 16″ 2001 Giorgio Grisales and Edgar Russ “Bottimi” Viola

This very fine Italian 16 inch viola for sale was made in 2001 in the Giorgio Grisales and Edgar Russ workshop.  For a brief time, these two famous modern Italian makers owned a workshop together in via Sicardo.  Their instruments are quickly becoming valuable items.  This particular viola is from the Bottimi series.  It has very lovely wood, excellent golden red varnish, and an excellent scroll.  The quality of the craftsmanship is superb.  The 16″ Grisales and Russ Bottimi Viola has an enviable sound as well; it is bold and warm with a great depth of tone which goes well beyond a 16″ instrument.
