$2,750.00
German 4/4 violin bow stamped Herm W Prell. Bow is very fine with silver mounting and lovely slide.
Description
This very attractive full size violin bow for sale was made by Hermann W Prell in Markneukirchen c 1920. The bow is stamped “Herm W Prell” above the frog, indicating it is of high Prell quality. Prell apprenticed under the famed Eugene Sartory, and thus the very fine Prell bows have French characteristics; in French style, this bow has silver winding above the brown leather grip. The bow is silver mounted with an ebony frog and very lovely blue abalone slide. The fine pernambuco stick is round, straight and strong with no signs of warping. The Prell Violin Bow draws out a rich and big sound that projects well in concert halls.
For $2750.00, this Prell violin bow would do very will for an advanced player.
