German 3/4 1900 Small Dimensions Bass

This 3/4 German Bass for sale was made in the late 1800’s or early 1900’s and was made exceptionally well.  The dark brown varnish is lovely for bass varnish and the wood is fine.  This bass is unlabeled and the very skilled German maker is unknown.  This bass’s dimensions are small, so it is very easy to handle.  Sadly, this bass was not always well cared for, and it has developed some top cracks, including a crack over the soundpost.  These cracks have been repaired well and are now secure.  Amazingly, the soundpost crack does not appear to have greatly decreased the quality of the sound of this bass.  It is a deep and rich and powerful bass.
