French 4/4 1940 Gustave Villaume à Nancy Violin

This lovely full size French violin for sale was handmade by Gustave Villaume (pupil of Mougenot) in Nancy around 1940.  This violin bears an original label as well as the stamp “Gustave Villaume à Nancy” on the button.  It has a lovely reddish oil varnish and good wood, especially on the nice back; the craftsmanship is excellent.  The violin has a sweeter and smoother sound than the typical French violin while still being bright and projecting well.  This Gustave Villaume Violin is in nearly perfect condition; it has only had only a minor top crack repair.
