English 4/4 1910 WEH&S Hill Frank Napier Silver Violin Bow

This lovely old English full size bow for sale was made c 1910 by Frank Napier of W.E. Hill & Sons.  It is stamped “WEH&S”, indicating it is a middle range Hill Violin Bow.  The bow is silver mounted with a fully lined silver frog and a silver tip typical of Hill bows.  The Hill’s stick is round and made of pernambuco wood.  The stick responds well to a variety of bowing styles, particularly sautillé.  This bow draws a rich sound out of the violin and helps provide an even tone to all notes on all strings.
