German 4/4 1920 Leonardo Genaro Guarneri Copy Violin
$7,250.00
German 4/4 Guarneri copy Leonardo Genaro violin c. 1920. This violin is in excellent condition.
Description
This lovely full size violin for sale was made in a German shop c 1920; it is labeled “Leonardo Genaro”, a name that was used on instruments that were imported by New York’s Peate’s Music House. Too bad this violin isn’t Italian, since it sounds similar to some entry-level Italian instruments. It is a Guarneri copy both in name and in style. The violin is finely carved throughout; it is substantially nicer than most factory made German violins. It has a nicely flamed two-piece back and a lovely golden oil varnish. This Genaro Violin has a sweet, ringing, and well projecting sound. It has no significant repairs and is in excellent condition.
Priced at $7250.00, this Genaro would play magnificently for a very advanced high school or college student.
